Wellesley College is a private liberal arts college for women situated in Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States. It was established in 1870 as the Wellesley Female Seminaryby Henry and Pauline Durant, who believed to provide an educational opportunity for women. It was founded by a charter signed by Massachusetts Governor, William Claflin. In 1873, it was renamed to Wellesley College by the Massachusetts legislature. It started admitted students in 1875.
It is also a member of Seven Sisters Colleges. As per the U.S. News & World Report, it has been ranked as the third-best liberal arts college in the country.
