Victoria University, shortly termed as VU, is a public university located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It provides courses in higher education, and Technical and Further Education (TAFE). It was founded in 1916 as the Footscray Technical School. In 1968, it was renamed to Footscray Institute of Technology (FIT). In 1990, FIT merged with the Western Institute and gained the university status to become Victoria University under the Victoria University of Technology Act of 1990.
As per the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the university has been ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide and has also gained the 56th position in the list of world’s top universities under 50.

The application process differs based on the study level, residency status, and type of student. The applicants can apply either through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) or directly using an online application form. They must meet the entry requirements to become eligible for study at VU.
