Victoria University, shortly termed as VU, is a public university located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It provides courses in higher education, and Technical and Further Education (TAFE). It was founded in 1916 as the Footscray Technical School. In 1968, it was renamed to Footscray Institute of Technology (FIT). In 1990, FIT merged with the Western Institute and gained the university status to become Victoria University under the Victoria University of Technology Act of 1990.

As per the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the university has been ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide and has also gained the 56th position in the list of world’s top universities under 50.

VU focuses on cross-disciplinary research to bring a positive impact on the business, industry and the community. The application process differs based on the study level, residency status, and type of student. The applicants can apply either through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) or directly using an online application form. They must meet the entry requirements to become eligible for study at VU.

  • ‘City Flinders Campus’, located in the centre of Melbourne’s CBD. It houses business and multimedia courses.
  • ‘City Flinders Lane Campus’, located next to the City Flinders Campus.
  • ‘City King Campus’, located close to the Melbourne's major railway station.
  • ‘City Queen Campus’, located in the heart of Melbourne's legal area.
  • ‘Footscray Nicholson Campus’, located at few minutes walking distance from the Footscray railway station.
  • ‘Footscray Park Campus’, oldest and largest campus of VU located next to parklands along the Maribyrnong River.
  • ‘St Albans Campus’, a home to the health & nutrition research.
  • ‘Sunshine Campus’, offers building and construction trade, and engineering courses.
  • ‘Werribee Campus’, a home to the research centres for water treatment, food science, and biomedical science.
  • ‘MetroWest Campus’, located in the heart of Footscray.
  • ‘Sydney Campus’, located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
