University of Regina, shortly known as U of R, is a public research university situated in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was established in 1911 as Regina College. In 1961, it was renamed as the University of Saskatchewan Regina Campus. It gained the university status in 1974 and became the University of Regina. The university focuses on experiential learning and career preparation programs.
It has also been ranked in the top 150 universities in the world under 50 years old by the Times Higher Education world university rankings.

U of R campuses are located in Wascana Centre and covers nearly 239 acres of land. The College Avenue Campus is the historic campus of U of R which is located near downtown Regina. The university has a library, laboratories, bookstore, eateries, café, security services, health services, two theatres, art store, accommodation, athletic facilities and several others.
U of R has two athletic teams - Cougars and Regina Rams. The sports teams participate in various sports competitions including Canada West Universities Athletic Association. The university has state-of-the-art facilities for all sports and fitness activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, wrestling, swimming etc. It has aquatics centre, a three-court gymnasium, fitness centre, four-lane running track and others.
The university also organizes a variety of cultural events that encourage students to be involved in some extra activities.
