University of Hertfordshire is a public university situated in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1952 as Hatfield Technical College. In 1958, its name was changed to Hatfield College of Technology. In 1992, the institution gained the university status and became the University of Hertfordshire.

Admission

The university has different ways to apply depending on the type of course, degree level, type of applicant and nationality. Campus

The campuses are:

  • ‘College Lane Campus’, the main campus houses most of the schools, and the major academic and recreational facilities.
  • ‘de Havilland Campus’, located 15 minutes walking distance from the main campus.
  • ‘Bayfordbury Campus’, houses the University's teaching observatory used by the School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics.
  • ‘Meridian House’, it is located on the edge of Hatfield town centre.

The numerous facilities include a library, computing labs, clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, auditorium, galleries, accommodation, childcare service, sports and fitness facilities, chaplaincy, pharmacy, counseling service, etc.

Extra-curricular activities

The Students' Union works hard to organize a plenty of social, cultural, and sports events. The university has a 1,500 capacity entertainment venue where live music, concerts, and other entertaining events are organized regularly. The Sports Village has a gym, swimming, pool, squash courts, sports hall, cricket hall, indoor climbing wall, artificial pitches, fitness studios etc.

Financial Support

Scholarships, bursaries, loans and various other funding sources are available to the students to ease their financial burden of pursuing higher education at the institution.
