Université de Moncton, shortly known as U de M, is a public French university situated in New Brunswick, Canada at three campuses. It was founded in 1963 as the result of merging of three colleges - Collège Saint-Joseph (1864), Collège du Sacré-Cœur (1899) and Collège Saint-Louis (1946). It is the only French-language University in New Brunswick and is one among the two such universities in the Maritimes. U de M is also the largest French-language university in Canada, outside Quebec.

It has 33 research centres and institutes that contribute in creating highly supportive and innovative environment among the students, faculty, researchers, and several partners in the society. All research activities are synchronized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. The University supports the basic and applied research in all fields.
Every year, more than $12 million research funds are raised. A major part of it comes from government institutions, agencies, businesses, and organizations. Apart from it, the university also provides over $3 million funding for research every year.

U de M has three campuses.
The university offers libraries, art gallery, museum, labs, eateries, café, sports and fitness facilities, accommodation, printing service, central store, security, health service, pastoral service, bookshop, and others.
The sports teams of the Université de Moncton are actively involved in various sports activities. They participate in various competitions held in the campus, locally, and nationally. The excellent sports facilities at all three campuses offer a number of opportunities to all members of the university community to enjoy sports and recreational activities of their interests. Through these facilities, the university promotes the personal health of its members.
Throughout the academic year, the students are encouraged to be a part of the social and cultural activities organized in collaboration with the Student Association.
The range of scholarships offered by the university helps students to fund their education. Scholarships from external organizations are also awarded. The university also helps them in managing their annual funds. Student loans and bursaries are also provided as the financial assistance programs.
