Thompson Rivers University, shortly termed as TRU, is a public research university situated in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 1970 as the Cariboo College. In 1988, its name was changed to the University College of the Cariboo. In 2005, it was renamed to Thompson Rivers University under the Thompson Rivers University Act.

TRU has two campuses.
The campus facilities include a library, arboretum, bookstore, laboratories, printing service, restaurants, cafes, disability services, chaplaincy, health services, childcare services, breastfeeding room, housing, parking, and others.
Thompson Rivers University has more than 80 clubs and associations that work in coordination with TRU Students’ Union. It gives limitless opportunities to be involved in the campus community through events and activities organized all through the year. It enables students to balance their academic stress with the extracurricular activities and enjoy a vibrant campus life.
The Athletics facilities encourage students to pursue their passions and become an active part of the sports activities held in- and out- of the campus. The sports teams are represented as TRU WolfPack. The teams of baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and cross country have competed in various championships.
The comprehensive range of financial support programs is offered to the students to manage their educational and living expenses. These include scholarships, bursaries, awards, loans, and work-study programs. They are awarded on the basis of their specific eligibility criteria. The students can also apply for the external funding opportunities if they meet the eligibility requirements.
