Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, shortly termed as NAIT, is a public institute of applied sciences situated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. NAIT focuses on applied education, technical training, applied research and innovations to meet the technical demands of Alberta. It was established in 1962 by the Alberta provincial government. Officially, it was opened in 1963. The first graduate degree was awarded in 1965, to the total of 326 graduates.
The Institute is a member of the Alberta Rural Development Network and the Polytechnics Canada.

NAIT has three campuses in Edmonton and one in Calgary.
NAIT facilities include a library, labs, study areas, cafeteria, gym, theatre, parking, locker rentals, counseling centre, housing, bookstore, restaurant, health services, chaplaincy, athletics and fitness facilities, etc.
The NAIT Students' Association is responsible for enhancing the students’ life by organizing a variety of events and activities throughout the academic year. It has countless opportunities to have fun while working hard to study at the Institute. The students can take a break from their busy schedule and enjoy their interests by becoming part of more than 70 different clubs.
NAIT sports teams are known as NAIT Ooks. The teams such as hockey, basketball, soccer, volleyball, badminton, curling etc. also compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
The institute supports its students in all ways. Every year, more than $5 million is spent on the financial support offered by the University and external sources. Scholarships, bursaries, and other funding options are offered to help students in pursuing their education and in achieving their goals. NAIT also helps students in finding the most suitable financial aid as per their needs and eligibility.
