MacEwan University is a public university situated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1971 as Grant MacEwan Community College. It was named after John Walter Grant MacEwan, the 9th Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. The aim of its foundation was to provide the courses or certificates focused on career development. In 1988, the institution granted the university status and renamed as Grant MacEwan University in 2009.
It is the largest transfer-in post-secondary educational institution in Alberta.

The university has two campuses.
The university has a library, computer labs, study spaces, labs, bookstore, banking services, childcare centre, health services, sports and recreation facilities, accommodation, parking, and others.
Students’ Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) not only support students academically, but also enables them to involve in the number of social, cultural and sports activities held in- and out- of the university’s campus.
