It was established in 1891 as the Goldsmiths' Technical and Recreative Institute by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. It became Constituent College of the University of London in 1904 and name was changed to Goldsmiths' College. In 2006, it was renamed as Goldsmiths, University of London.
